This is a small update, but an important one for a lot of shop owners. Two new settings are available for configuring the ‘Notify me’ button. You can choose button to appear on the left or right, and the image used for the button itself can be selected.

You can use any image that has been uploaded to your store as part of the theme (note that this is different to product images). Once you’ve uploaded your image, return to Back in Stock app and choose your custom image. You may need to clear your browser cache (or restart your browser altogether) to see the new image.

Better customisation is the number one request feature for Back in Stock, and today the first of these is being releases. Custom email templates allow store owners to edit the notification template to match the rest of the store look and feel.

Email templates use the Liquid template engine, just like Shopify, so getting started should be easy.

To start editing, login to Back in Stock and click ‘Templates’ from the top menu. There are two liquid objects available at present: shop and product, both of which have the standard properties you would expect.

Further customisation options are planned in the near future. If you have any thoughts on this feature, or what should come next, leave a comment below or email [email protected]

I’m pleased to report that Back in Stock has been approved for inclusion in the Shopify App Store.
